Curriculum vitae
Steve van de Weijer (1987) obtained his bachelor Sociology (2005-2008) and research master Social Cultural Science (2008-2010; judicium: cum laude)  at the Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen. Between September 2010 and august 2013 he was a PhD-student at the department of Criminology at the VU University Amsterdam. In March 2014, he defended his dissertation on the intergenerational transmission of violent offending.  From September 2013 onwards he is appointed as a lecturer at the VU University. In addition he is appointed as a post-doctoral researcher  at the Netherlands Institute for the Study of Crime and Law Enforcement.

Research activities
Steve van de Weijer conducts research in the programme Empirical and Normative Studies.
His research focuses on the life course of criminals and the intergenerational transmission of offending.
