After Alain Krijnen finished his studies constitutional and administrative law at the VU in 2005 he started working at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, first regarding electoral law and elections. Since 2006 is his main objective the legal position of local government. Alain was also part of the transition team considering the new legal status for Bonaire, Statia and Saba. Since June 1, 2012 he is associated for one day in the week with the VU department for constitutional and administrative law for writing his thesis about the constitutional position of the monarch.
Alain is currently writing his thesis about the constitutional position of the monarch, mostly about the provenance and exact meaning of his powers as part of the government, his role in the legislative process, his role with the formation of a new cabinet and his role as president of the Council of State.
